Who We Are

The UFO Model was developed based on our work with young adult IDU in San Francisco, CA since 1997. We are based at the University of California, San Francisco. This project funded by cooperative agreement No. PS08-86204 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Young adult stories

 "I just became homeless again, and my friend helped me out by letting me stay with her. Since I don’t have a job right now she hooks me up with a hit after she scores drugs for herself. Since it is her drugs she shoots first and then piggybacks my needle. I don’t really pay attention to what she is doing when she prepares the drugs because it’s her drugs."
